If you're looking for a more full-featured way to keep track of your submissions, consider the Writer's Database:
http://www.writersDB.com

It's a free web-based application, and in addition to submission tracking, it allows you to keep track of market listings, queries you've sent, manuscripts and word counts produced over time. You can even browse the shared market listings of other users on the site.

It's funny you know - how we end up where we do on the web. I was just blogging away and twittering with people (which I just started yesterday), and suddenly the name Sy Safransky popped into my head. I haven't read The Sun in years and so I had to google it. I saw some of the google entries and then it clicked - so I typed in Sy Safransky blog - to see if he has one. Now I'm here.

I agree with you about the Sun content. the magazine has been like a friend and healer for me at times in the past. I would go to the library and devour back issues, and the content does often contain 'raw emotions' - along with the black and white photos that bring you even closer to a human connection. I've never seen another publication that accomplishes that for me. I used to do a biweekly paper here, and the reason I even know about The Sun, is that a supporter of mine recommended it to me and said that my publication reminded him of The Sun. After I read a few back issues, I realize what a compliment that was.

Here's another one. I'm listening to a compilation of songs from the L Word - Season One. The song that just came on is 'Sun Again' by Kinnie Starr. It's from an album she wrote after she broke her contract with Cirque du Soleil in Vegas and came back to her normal life as a musician. It's definitely part of her healing from the Vegas segue. I have done music bookings and promotions here in my town Nelson, BC for years (not now though), and I did several shows with her.

Anyway, you're fortunate to have a loving hubby who gives you such great gifts. !!

best

Sure, go there and see what works and what doesn't. Maybe you'll enjoy it and become part of it. Maybe that's the synchronicity, rather than you doing the bricks and mortar creation of it. Otherwise, what a great way to learn before starting your own.

Hi Cori,

Thanks for the write up on PurpleTrail. I am part of the product team here at PurpleTrail and appreciate your feedback.

You mentioned that you were not very comfortable with the sending invites interface. It will be great if you can give us a few more cues on how to improve it. We will address your concerns right away.

Also have made note of your point around sending ecards and other communication that does not require place and time fields. You shall see the changes reflected on PurpleTrail very soon.

We are committed to making PurpleTrail a world class service and promise to act on your feedback at the earliest. Thanks once again for your encouragement.

Regards,
Anuj Khurana,

Hi Cori,

Saw that you have a goldendoodle and I realize this has NOTHING to do with your blog (so you can delete my comment!) but I didn't know how else to contact you. Anyway wanted to invite you to my new doodle website: www.DoodleKisses.com (it's almost 2 months "new"). Lots of doodle owners, discussions, pictures galore! It's a fun place and would love for you to join too (free).

Nothing much to add here. But if anything on my site could be useful to your article series, please feel free to use it. My CC license is there to allow such use.

Personally though, I think the line between site and Blog is far more blurred than even what you indicate. All blogs are currently sites but not all sites are blogs. That is just my terminology though, everyone has their own flavor.

Thank you for posting this!
